Walking the $1.9B Build

You can’t recruit properly for a project of this scale from behind a desk.

This month, the Alignz team stepped onto site at the New Dunedin Hospital for a personalised tour of what is now New Zealand’s largest infrastructure build, valued at $1.9 billion. Standing in the middle of it, you quickly understand the scale. The coordination. The pressure. The responsibility.

There is nothing else like it moving in the country right now.

For Alignz, this wasn’t a sightseeing exercise. It was about understanding the project properly. The workforce demand. The standards required. The realities of operating at this level. When roles come through, they won’t be treated as just another job description. They will be backed by context, clarity and on-the-ground insight.

Access like this reflects trust. It reflects relationships built over time. It reflects a reputation for showing up prepared and operating professionally in high-stakes environments.

Otago is moving. Major infrastructure is reshaping the region, and Alignz is positioning itself where momentum is real. Tentative permanent roles are on the horizon, with details being finalised. The groundwork is being done now so that when recruitment activates, delivery is sharp and dependable.

Big builds demand precision. They demand consistency. They demand partners who understand that reliability is not optional.

Alignz will continue to stay close to the projects shaping New Zealand’s future.

Because the best placements start long before a CV is sent.
